Table Tennis Ratings Asia (TTRA) · Last updated 2 November 2026
TTRA (Table Tennis Ratings Asia) is owned and operated by Sports Analytics Asia Labs (202603249925 (AS0522028-V)), which is the data user responsible for your personal data. This policy explains what personal data TTRA collects, why, and how it is protected, in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
What we collect
- Your name, date of birth, gender, state, school or club, email address and WhatsApp number.
- Your identity document, protected as described in section 3. We never keep the full number.
- Highest level played, tournament entries, match results and ratings.
- For players under 18: a parent or guardian's name and contact details, and an emergency contact.
- Payment receipts you upload when entering a tournament, shown only to that tournament's organiser and TTRA.
Why we use it
- To run tournament entries, draws, results and official ratings and rankings.
- To keep one record per player, so results and ratings follow the right person.
- To contact you about your entries, matches and account, and to keep junior players safe on the day.
Identity verification and privacy by design
To keep the rating system accurate and stop duplicate profiles, we verify identity without storing national identity numbers. TTRA never stores your full NRIC, MyKad or passport number. Instead, the number is turned into a one-way, keyed cryptographic fingerprint (HMAC-SHA256) that can match the same player across tournaments but cannot be turned back into the number. To help organisers tell apart players with the same name, only the last four digits are kept and shown (for example, "IC ending 5011"). Uploaded entry spreadsheets are read and not kept.
What is public
Your name, club, rankings, ratings, results and the badges you choose to show are public. Your identity number, date of birth, contact details and receipts are never public.
Who we share it with
The organiser of a tournament you enter sees what they need to run it: your entry, contact details, level, last four identity digits and receipt. We do not sell personal data. We use trusted service providers for hosting, file storage and email, only to run TTRA.
How long we keep it
Results and ratings are kept as the permanent record of the sport. Contact details are kept while your account or entries are active, or as needed for disputes and legal obligations. Payment receipts can be opened only for 60 days after upload; after that they are locked and no one can view them.
Children
Players under 18 are registered by a parent or guardian, who gives consent for them and manages their account. A junior's date of birth, school and contact details are never public.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your settings. We do not use advertising cookies.
Where data is stored
TTRA uses hosting, file storage and email providers whose servers may be outside Malaysia. We use them only to run TTRA and choose providers that protect data to a comparable standard.
Marketing
We send service messages about your account, entries and matches. News and updates are optional, and you can switch them off in Settings.
Your rights
You may ask to see or correct your personal data, withdraw consent for optional uses, or ask about deleting your account, by writing to support@ttrasia.com. Parents and guardians may do this for players they manage.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and access is limited to people who need it. If a data breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
